Many people in the financial industry are only really focused on one thing: the bottom line. They just want to make more money for themselves. I noticed this trend, too, and in 1982, I left the insurance industry and started PlanFIRST with my business partner, Leon Fayonksy. Our goal was to create a financial planning firm that would allow us to help others be the best stewards of the resources and assets God has given them. We wanted to work independently for the client, tailoring specific, personal financial strategies for each individual.
In addition to earning the Chartered Life Underwriter designation in 1982, I became a Certified Financial Planner® professional in 1985 to further reach the goal of helping others. In 2016, I became a Certified Kingdom Advisor to provide a Christian perspective on financial planning and investing. I also work with a number of local organizations, such as the Greenville Estate Planning Council, to ensure I am staying up to date on the issues you face.
In 2019, to continue serving clients well, and to broaden the services we offer, PlanFIRST joined with Ronald Blue Trust, a division of Thrivent Trust Company. We don’t get paid by commission, and we aren’t out to sell products. My team and I just want to see you enjoy and effectively use the resources God has given to you.
In 2007 I was asked by the radio station to start hosting a show called Talking Money® to help educate people in the area of finances. I seek to answer the many questions clients and listeners have asked and continue to ask—no sales pitch included! I cover topics from financial planning basics to estate planning. You can listen to the show here or subscribe on your favorite podcasting app! If you have a question or topic for me to address on the radio, please Ask Me a Question!
Listen to Talking Money®, a live, call-in radio program, every Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 on 94.5 The Answer.
